Girls Inc. of Owensboro-Daviess County is hosting their third annual Red on the River fundraiser next month, but with a few changes due to COVID-19. Red on the Remix will be combination virtual and live fundraiser on July 24.
Beginning at 4 p.m., the recorded portions of the event will be broadcast on the Girls Inc. YouTube channel and social media accounts.
Several local musicians are scheduled to perform, and throughout the event testimonies from community leaders and Girls Inc. members will be presented.
A live, original painting by Aaron Kizer will be sold by the end of the night and will serve as a donation to Girls Inc.
The live portion of the event will begin at 6 p.m. at Bar Louie, located at 234 Frederica St. Performances by Larry Maglinger as Rod Stewart and Tara Estes as Dolly Parton are included in the live event, which will also stream on the Girls Inc. YouTube channel.
“We are so excited,” Girls Inc. CEO Tish Correa Osborne said. “This pandemic has been rough on all of us, and it’s time to celebrate with a fun, mostly virtual event — The Red on the River Remix. You can sit back and relax from home or go to Bar Louie in the evening.”
Although no tickets are being sold, donations are being accepted.
